There are several sizes of glass beads used in road marking.
Typically, the diameter of glass beads for road marking ranges from about 0.1 to 1.0 mm. The most common size range is from 0.4 to 0.85 mm. Smaller beads around 0.1 - 0.4 mm can provide a smoother surface texture to the road marking, but may have lower retro - reflectivity. Larger beads in the range of 0.6 - 1.0 mm generally have better retro - reflectivity but may protrude more and affect the smoothness of the road - marking surface if not properly applied.
